Ladies Scratch Team secure promotion for 2026 in the The Golf Holidays Direct Womens Scratch League 

The ladies scratch league takes place annually from April to September with 8 matches played home and away. This season Letchworth were in Division Three Group A and had matches against Dyrham Park, East Herts B, Brickendon B and Porters Park B. 

The season started strong for Letchworth with the first three matches being convincing wins. Then there was a draw and two loses which saw the team mid table for the second half of the season.

With one match left to play, there was only half a point in it. Dyrham Park needed just a half to secure promotion whilst Letchworth needed a clear win. 

Saturday 20th September the team welcomed Dyrham Park to play the final match of the season for both teams.

LGC was represented by Kelly Cooke, Debbie Sheard, Nicky Turner, Anne Coulter and Esther Strous. After nine holes, LGC had the upper hand in most of the matches with the 14th hole seeing the end of play and shaking hands in LGC favour. With a very convincing 5-0 win against Dyrham, LGC Ladies Scratch team have secured their promotion to Division 2 in 2026.  

A huge thank you to Scratch Captain, Debbie Sheard and to all who played in the matches this season.
